Most small-wheel commuters are small in every other way too — smaller battery, cheaper sensor, lighter build quality, a price that tells you exactly what was cut. The Meta 24 is the same bike as its bigger siblings with 24″ wheels bolted on. Same 48V 500W rear hub motor. Same true torque sensor. Same 48V 15Ah Samsung-cell battery — 720 Wh — and the same ability to run a matched second pack for roughly 1,440 Wh. Same hydraulic brakes, same Shimano drivetrain, same brake-activated tail light. Nothing was downgraded to make the wheel smaller.

What the 24″ wheel actually buys you is geometry. The bike sits lower, so the seat drops to a 30.7″ minimum height and both feet reach the ground at a red light. It weighs 61.7 lb (28 kg) — 6.7 lb less than the Meta 26 and Meta 275 — which you feel every time you lift it onto a rack or walk it through a doorway. And it steers quicker, which is what you want threading a narrow bike lane past a parked delivery van. Eunorau fits it to riders from 5’3″ to 6’2″ — the shortest rider the Meta family accommodates.

Why the 24-Inch Wheel Is the Point, Not the Compromise

A smaller wheel usually signals a smaller everything — it is how manufacturers hit a lower price or squeeze in a shorter rider. Eunorau did the opposite here. The motor, the sensor, the 720 Wh Samsung pack, the dual-battery capability, the hydraulic brakes, the brake light: identical to the 26″ and 27.5″ Metas. The wheel is the only thing that shrank, and what it changes is how the bike behaves in a city.

• A torque sensor makes 500W feel like more than 500W. Because assist is metered to pedal force rather than fired at full output every time the cranks turn, the Meta puts power down when you actually want it — and wastes less of the battery when you do not. Most commuters near this price use a cadence sensor, which is the on-off feel riders complain about after a season.
• Dual-battery range on a small-wheel bike is genuinely rare. 720 Wh handles an ordinary day. A matched second pack takes it to roughly 1,440 Wh — the kind of capacity normally reserved for big fat-tyre bikes, on a bike you can lift.
• The tail light talks to the car behind you. The integrated rear LED brightens the moment you pull a brake lever, powered off the main battery. On a dark November ride home that is the difference between a driver guessing you are slowing and a driver knowing it.
• Low, light and quick beats big and stable in traffic. 61.7 lb, a 30.7″ minimum seat height and a short wheelbase mean you can plant both feet at a light, wheel it into an elevator, and change line around a pothole without planning it three seconds ahead.

• 48V 15Ah Samsung-cell removable battery — 720 Wh, dual-battery ready — Samsung is a tier-one lithium cell supplier, and Eunorau names it on the spec sheet rather than hiding behind “premium cells.” The pack lifts out so you can charge indoors at room temperature and leave the bike in the garage. • Innova 24″ × 3.0″ wide commuter tyres on black alloy rims — wider than a standard commuter tyre (1.9–2.4″), narrower and faster-rolling than a true fat tyre (4.0″+). On a compact 24″ wheel the extra air volume does the work a suspension system would otherwise have to: cracked pavement, gravel shoulders, streetcar tracks and packed-snow edges stop registering as impacts.

The motor cutoff kills assist the instant you touch a lever, which matters on a throttle-equipped bike. 180 mm rotors carry the thermal mass to haul a loaded bike down a long hill without fade.
• LED headlight and a brake-activated rear LED — both run off the main battery, so there is nothing to recharge or replace at the end of a long day. Eunorau’s integrated brake tail light brightens every time the brakes are applied.
• BC182 LCD display with Bluetooth and the EUNORAU GO app — speed, battery state, assist level, trip and odometer on a backlit screen with waterproof connectors. The BC182 manual documents Bluetooth pairing to EUNORAU GO on iOS and Android. This is also where the speed cap lives — leave it at 32 km/h for public roads.
• Shimano 7-speed drivetrain — ASLM3157RC shifter, 42T chainring, 170 mm forged alloy crank — deliberately simple. Seven speeds cover flats, headwinds and moderate hills, and every bike shop in Canada can service a Shimano 7-speed freewheel without ordering parts. A forged crank is stronger and lighter than a cast one.
• Front suspension fork — takes the sting out of potholes, expansion joints and curb drops at the front wheel, working with the 3.0″ tyres to keep a rough urban route comfortable.
• Adjustable ZOOM stem and Eunorau C7 saddle — the stem angles up or down to set bar height and reach for an upright commuting position without buying parts. The C7 is Eunorau’s comfort-oriented commuter saddle.

The bike arrives partially assembled in a single 153 × 34 × 84.5 cm box. Eunorau does not publish a pre-assembly percentage or an assembly time, so we do not quote one — in practice the remaining work is the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and saddle, and the tool kit in the box covers it. The Honest Take — What We’d Change

1. 55 Nm is a flat-to-rolling number, not a hill-climbing one. The Meta is smooth and unbothered on city streets, waterfront paths and moderate inclines. Point it at a sustained steep grade with a rider near the 286 lb payload ceiling and it will feel like it is working. 2. A 24″ wheel carries less momentum over big hits than a 27.5″ one. That is simple physics and the trade you make for the low step-over and the light weight. The 3.0″ tyre and the front fork recover most of it, but if effortless roll-over on badly broken pavement is your top priority, the Meta 275 → is the same bike on the biggest wheel in the family.
3. Seven speeds and a basic coil fork are the right call here — but they are the ceiling. A 7-speed freewheel with a 42T chainring covers commuting comfortably and is trivially serviceable anywhere in Canada; riders who want a wide-range cassette for steep terrain or a tunable air fork for rough surfaces will find the limit. Fewer parts also means fewer things to maintain over a five-year ownership window, which is the trade Eunorau made deliberately.

None of those three are defects — they are the consequences of building a light, low, simple, road-legal commuter instead of a heavy do-everything bike. If your riding is urban and suburban, on pavement and packed paths, they will not cost you anything.
